Montecatini Terme

The thermal waters of Montecatini have since the fifteenth century been the subject of clinical research, including prestigious Nobel Prize winners like Madame Curie and Daniel Bovet. Montecatini Alto is the village of medieval origin, located at the top of the hill that dominates Montecatini Terme. It can be reached in 10 minutes by the funicular railway, which dates back to the end of the 1800s and is still intact and functional. Florence itself is an open-air museum with many masterpieces to the Renaissance and is not far from Montecatini Terme. It is a city that expresses itself through its architecture, landscape views and art that permeates throughout the city’s streets. The perfect way to experience the city is to wander around lively piazzas, through narrow streets with restaurants, markets, bars, and fashion stores. Less than an hour’s drive from Montecatini, you will find Pisa. This city is synonymous with its great Torre Pendente (the Leaning Tower) almost symbolic image of Italy. The leaning tower is just one of Pisa’s wonderful attractions, including Campo dei Miracoli, or Miracle Field. Here you can also see the stunning Duomo, Battistero, and Galleria that surround Camposanto (monumental cemetery).
