Sirmione is one of the jewels of Lake Garda, surrounded by the majestic Alps. The town stretches along a thin peninsula that protrudes into the lake for about 4 km. Ancient Romans discovered the healing properties of Lake Garda`s hot springs and therefore built beautiful villas with thermal pools. The main historical landmark of Sirmione is the Grottoes of Cattullus. In the bottom of the lake, in front of Cattullo`s Grottos, sulphurous water, known as the Boiola spring gush, out at the temperature of 70 °C .

From the walls of Sirmione’s fortress, you can easily move between the small charming towns along the coast. Wonderful for families with children, charming clean beaches along the entire lake and, of course, Gardaland is worth a visit. Sirmione is a good starting point for wine lovers as well. The area offers a great selection of wine tours, among them a visit to the Valpolicella Valley, where the famous Amarone wine comes from. Here you get an insight into some of the true Italian culture, with culinary experiences both in the glass and on the plate.
